As the naysayers and neo-conservatives ramp up their Obama demonization campaign: the majority of America celebrates the Inauguration of President Obama!

They want Obama to fail plain and simple. What ever Obama does they will find fault. This reaction from the right is not based on the loyal opposition theory it is based in visceral hate of anything progressive. They hope, not only hope, they prey Obama will fall on his face. Shame on these selfish ultra-partisans who care about nothing but keeping power for themselves and their corporate sponsors at the expense of America's middle Class.

The American People have spoken with a rational sober voice and that voice has rejected the destructive policies of Bush and his fellow travelers. It is our turn now and we will not fail. Here is a prediction; Under Obama the economy will get better. And here is another one: Under President Obama's leadership the United States will regain our standing in the world. That's because Obama will work with our allies, end torture, close the illegal Guantanamo Bay Prison Colony and rejoin the world community.

Here is another surprise for you right-wing nuts out there who will not give Obama a chance: our support of Obama is conditional on what he does, we are not worshipers, cultists or blind followers. We are not socialists or communists but patriotic Americans who love our country deeply. We do believe in Obama and what he stands for and we voted for him with a sober and open mind.

How appropriate that Obama takes office the day after the MLK Holiday. Bush and his anti-middle class cronies will be gone in less then 45 hours. Mission Accomplished: The right-wing nuts have been thrown out of office!

Take care and I hope everyone has a great MLK Day. - Robert

So as an Obama supporter you believe you are a reasonable thinker.  On this blog I've seen many articals explaining all that Bush did wrong. There are several articles declaring him the worse president in history.  As a liberal is there anything Bush did that you can point to that you agreed with?  For example the surge in Iraq.  Because of it the war is winding down and we are pulling troops out early.  Or was there some other initiative of the Bush administration you wish to applaud.

The surge worked in correcting a loosing and wrong headed policy in Iraq. I supported President Bush when he told the Taliban rulers in Afghanistan that they turn over the terrorists who attacked our country or else. I supported Bush’s Afghanistan policy until he took hi eye off the prize and started his unjustified adventure in Iraq.

I just think it is so funny that for the past 8 years the libs have trashed Bush at every occasion.  Their hatred of the man has been overt to the point of near hysteria.  And now they set back and admonish us (conservatives) to give poor Obama a chance while in the same sentence they calling us right-wing nuts.

The libs cried when Bush spent more money on his inauguration than any other president in history.  Where is you outrage at Obama spending over 300% more than Bushes inauguration.  I believe the term for that type of double standard is "hypocrisy".  I personally think Obama deserves a great inauguration and I don't care how much he spends.  But I do believe there's to much hypocrisy coming out of the left for their opinions to be take seriously.

Just one Right-Wing Nut to a Left Wing Socialist.

It's amazing isn't it. Bush spends eight years digging the hole, and the Neo-Cons climb in and bury themselves in it.

The only thing I ever saw that was reasonable was his attempt to overhaul immigration policy.  He backed away from that like a wounded dog when the right wing bit back.

I wish he stuck to his guns on that one. Immigration really does need a reworking from the ground up.

As for the troop surge - yes, it was a good idea and it's paying off. But it's an action taken to make up for a fundamental error in post-war strategy and hubris about how the US forces would be received after the war ended and the reconstruction process began.

I was raised a conservative... had VERY strong conservative parents, and though many of my beliefs still fall in that category, I am happy to say that I was able to open my mind within the last 10 years.

I really enjoyed watching the rallies during the election, and noticed the immense variety in voters for Obama, -vs- the very vanilla (yet opinionated) supporters of McCain [scratch that... Palin].

I truly hope that this president can do what he won votes on and unite people. (Yeah I know there is more to it than that but I need to go to bed.....)

I await any vicious or truly bland/irrelevant comments from the opposing side... (you know who you are ;0)
